Hostas

I love Hostas, a great plant I grew to appreciate in Maryland. It is now April and my Hostas are coming up in two places, the bird feeder garden and the garden by the chimney.

Variegated Myrtle

Planted behind the trees in the bird feeder garden. I ordered it from colonial creek farms.

Collette

Collette is appreciating her new post in the bird feeder garden. For now, that is a more accurate name than Japanese garden which I hope it will become with more work. I have added various elements- rock, water by way of a bird bath, and various green plants. When they fill out more, I will work on shaping and I would like to include an evergreen of some kind. I am also ordering more sweet woodruff. I love it already though.

This weekend, I planted some ivy and citronella grass.

Fairy Garden

Mum and I went to Plants For All Seasons on Louetta, and they have beautiful fairy gardens. I had the pot already, and I bought the miniature plants and fairy, lantern, bridge and dog there. I also bought moss and I had the river rocks already. Did not take long to assemble/plant and it is doing very well. Fun project!

Roses

I wish I could remember exactly when I trimmed the roses, but I think it was February. It's really made a difference. They have filled out, have more blooms, and look healthier. I have to figure out the name of the potted flowers in the first picture- those flowers you can always get at the grocery store. Sheereen gave me the red ones for my birthday (2014) and the yellow ones I got for the guest room when Doris visited.
